Question: Would they work for stools on an island and be able to move the seats without scratching the floors?
Answer: Probably not. I have them under my bedside tables. They move independently from the stands, and I only drive them to vacuum.
Answer: I think you may be referring to add-on to the chair if the person is going to lean or move the chair around while sitting. I wouldn't recommend them for that purpose. These casters seem to hold too large sofas when walking them around but would have to position them again.
