Just like all the other Makita tools, really excellent quality, the motor fans air out the front blowing the debris out of the way of the blade so you can see your line. In my opinion only Festool makes a better saw but at 5x the price. Makita JV0600K Top Handle Jig Saw smelled like well. A fantastic track saw and very well priced. We had 10 acres of trees killed by bark beetle and harvested 200 wood slabs. These we make into tables, and often we join two slices together. Makita jigsaw has worked wonderfully.

Makita Jigsaw is very fine for my project. Design is simple made, and the build is robust and precise. The handgrip is right, the blade-changing mechanism is easy to operate, and the base slides nicely on the work surface. The saw's vibration is minimal which makes precise work much more relaxed.
I have so far used this saw in a project involving precise cuts in a 1-inch solid oak board, and I am delighted with both jigsaw handle precision and power.
Following up on questions about blade compatibility, I can confirm that jigsaw fuel saw accepts the commonly available T blades; their shank is identical to what Makita calls a B blade, and it locks into the saw's blade holder as firmly and precisely as the original Makita B blade.
Excellent Value: I love that jigsaw. There is no vibration, and it cuts great. I also do like the quick blade change and the s type blades. I chose Makita brand over other popular brands because of the quality. I've got other Makita tools that I've used now for 25 years with no trouble whatsoever. Makita saw feels, sounds, and works with that same quality.
The shipping was faster than anticipated, which is a considerable plus alone. The saw runs clean and accurate with every cut so far. I've used it to cut out plywood and solid African mahogany with minimal chipping, using the included blade. Additionally, I was very impressed by the very, very smooth cut that the saw provided - little to no sanding. Great tool and a great addition to all my other stuff!
Works Great for Commercial Users: Works great for me, but my boss has had the same jigsaw for about two years now and the screw/bolt holding the flat plate on snapped, and now he can't use or fix it. Hopefully that doesn't happen to mine. I'm a bit nicer to my tools than he is, but I do notice the same screw/bolt-on shaft comes lose A LOT. Fortunately the alien wrench is built into the saw, so it's easy to re-tighten. Just wish I didn't have to tighten it every other time I use it though. The case is excellent; some people say it's low quality, but I think it's okay. Better than a fabric bag.
Great Saw for Money: It's a perfect jigsaw, but I didn't know it wasn't variable speed when I bought it. Unlike a lot of people, I won't down rate a product because of my lack of due diligence in reading the product literature. This Makita jigsaw is powerful yet small enough for tight spots!! My wife and I love it! I've seen youtube vids of pal using this saw on like other wood! Get one today!!!
Like a Bulletproof: Monster tool! Already have used it on two projects, the wife and I upcycle pallets! This thing is Bulletproof so far. It has cut through everything I've thrown at it. I used it to cut a hole in a 2-inch solid door without a sweat. Well built, and beautiful balanced feel to it during use. Not a big deal, but the bevel base does loosen-up under heavy vibration unless tightened very securely - still gets my five stars.

Highly Recommend: I've got lots of Makita tools and have had some of them for decades. They are uniformly excellent. I bought the Makita model to replace my old Bosch. It does have outstanding balance, minimal vibration, and the blade change mechanism works quite well. As a trim carpenter, I use jigsaws primarily for coping molding. I found that the blade easily comes off track and the base opening is a little large and allows the decoration to go through and get hung up. The dial for the orbital settings isn’t very smooth, and I can see it becoming a problem down the road. I would highly recommend for general use but unfortunately doesn’t work for my needs.
Good Sides: The tool worked well for my job of cutting plastic. I also ordered some Bosch blades suitable for plastic. The machine did come with one Makita blade which seemed fine. I'll likely use it on a future project. Tool is pretty much ready to use out of the box. An instruction manual is excellent. Blades are easy to install and change. I'm satisfied with my purchase.
Drawbacks:
Love the feel of this tool, but I have to agree when I was cutting an arc in some maple the new Bosch scroll blade deflected pretty significantly. I sanded the mess out of it, and it was OK, but disappointing for a Makita. I love my other Makita tools
Great jigsaw, easy to guide and lots of power. Perfect for a novice handyman such as myself. I have used many other high-quality brands, but Makita JV0600K Top Handle Jig Saw is my favorite as it stands up to whatever abuse I put it through. Cuts great! Robust construction and design make for a professional feel with all the power one needs for a jigsaw application. Glad I purchased it.
